KEY RESULT AREA:

- Handle antenatal, postnatal, neonatal and pediatric emergencies.
- Maintain Therapeutic relationship with the patient.
- Inter & Intra departmental Co-Ordination & Co-Operation.
- Recording & Reporting.
- Attending all the classes arranged.
- Proper handing & Taking Over.
- Updating the Knowledge.
Duties include:
- Collects current symptoms, as well as a detailed patient history and then consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
- Performs triage, while considering both physical and psychosocial elements. Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes patients until the attending physician is available, based upon nursing standards and protocol.
- Initiates corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
- Records patientsβ current vital signs.
- Works directly under physicians, assisting them during exams, diagnostic testing and treatments.
- Administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards & Protocols.
- Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications.
- Able to assist antenatal mothers admitted in EMR; – Triage potential laboring patients, preterm labor patients, patients who have ruptured their membranes (broken their water), and identify obstetric emergencies. – Monitor the vitals of both the fetus and the mother – Track the strength and timing of contractions – Monitor the baby’s movement, heartbeat, and contractions through NST. – Able to assess and manage emergency conditions during pregnancy.
- Able to assess and handle neonatal and pediatric emergencies.
- Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner.
- Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
- Maintaining and reviewing patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
- Maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Responding to telephone enquiries relating to patients, lab requests, x-rays, prescription requests, etc.
- Coordinating appointments for specialist referrals, x-rays lab testing, etc and conveying pertinent instructions and information to the patient.
- Completing Procedure register daily with all details.
- Maintain H.A.I Register (S.S.I) wherever required.
- Reporting incidences as per hospital protocol.
- Check & Maintain Daily Inventory.
- Performing other related duties within the hospital as may be assigned.
- Indenting & Maintaining Inventories pertaining to OPD.
- Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going patient care.
- Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports and responding to both oral and written enquiries.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public.
- The ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- The ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
