Job Description

Our boarding program plays a crucial role in nurturing responsible, disciplined, and well-rounded individuals. We are seeking committed and compassionate Boarding House Parents to oversee the safety, welfare, and overall development of boarding students.
Start date of employment: July 2025
Position Summary
Boarding House Parents will be responsible for the daily care, discipline, and well-being of students living in the boarding house. They will act as mentors, caregivers, and role models, ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Student Supervision & Daily Routine Management
- Wake up students at 5:30 AM for morning workouts and ensure punctuality.
- Supervise students’ morning routine, ensuring they are prepared for the day.
- Escort students to and from academic sessions, extracurricular activities, and other school events.
- Ensure students follow the school’s schedule and daily routines effectively.
- 2. Dining Hall Assistance & Student Well-Being
- Assist students at the dining hall during meal times, ensuring they follow dining etiquette.
- Monitor students’ nutrition and hygiene, encouraging healthy eating habits.
- Address students’ emotional, personal, and social concerns, providing a supportive environment.
- 3. Housekeeping & Discipline Maintenance
- Supervise housekeeping staff to ensure dormitories are kept clean, organized, and well-maintained.
- Conduct daily room inspections and enforce cleanliness standards.
- Implement and uphold boarding house rules, discipline, and behavioural expectations.
- 4. Safety, Welfare, and Pastoral Care
- Ensure students’ physical and emotional safety, reporting any concerns to school authorities.
- Serve as a mentor and guide, fostering a respectful and supportive atmosphere.
- Mediate conflicts and provide counselling support when necessary.
- Oversee student medical needs and emergencies, coordinating with the school nurse.
- 5. Night Supervision & Lights-Out Routine
- Ensure students return to the boarding house on time in the evening.
- Enforce lights-out policy at 10:00 PM, ensuring students get adequate rest.
- Conduct night checks to confirm students are in their rooms and maintaining discipline.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a school warden, hostel warden, or boarding house parent.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to mentor, discipline, and support students from diverse backgrounds.
- High level of responsibility, patience, and empathy in handling adolescent students.
Preferred:
- Background in teaching, counselling, or student welfare is a plus.
- Familiarity with boarding school environments and international school cultures.
- Experience in first aid and basic student healthcare management.
