Position Overview: As a Radiology Technician at Santiniketan Medical College, Bolpur, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients in our rural community. Operating advanced MRI machines, specifically GE HDXT 1.5 Tesla MRI and GE Revolution Expert 32 Slice, you will contribute to accurate diagnoses and ensure the well-being of our patients through compassionate care.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct MRI Examinations: Perform MRI scans on patients using GE HDXT 1.5 Tesla MRI and GE Revolution Expert 32 Slice machines as per physician’s orders. Ensure proper patient preparation and provide clear instructions to alleviate any concerns.
• Image Acquisition and Quality: Adjust MRI scanning parameters and position patients appropriately to obtain high-quality images. Collaborate with radiologists to ensure optimal imaging results for accurate diagnoses.
• Safety and Compliance: Prioritize patient safety during MRI procedures, adhering to strict radiation protection measures and safety protocols. Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance checks on MRI equipment to ensure functionality and promptly report any technical issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
• Patient Care: Demonstrate compassion and empathy while working with patients, addressing their concerns and providing emotional support during MRI examinations.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized patient records, including imaging data and examination details, following hospital guidelines and data security protocols.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including radiologists, nurses, and other medical staff, to provide seamless patient care and contribute to the overall patient experience.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with advancements in MRI technology, techniques, and industry best practices. Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
• Valid certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Additional certification in MRI Technology is preferred.
• Proficiency in operating GE HDXT 1.5 Tesla MRI and GE Revolution Expert 32 Slice machines.
• Strong understanding of MRI protocols, positioning, and image acquisition.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work in a rural hospital setting with a diverse patient population and limited resources.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
