Job Overview
Larsen & Toubro is seeking an experienced Telecom Design Engineer to join its Transportation Infrastructure division. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in telecom system design, technical evaluations, project coordination, and telecom integration for Metro and railway infrastructure projects.
This role requires a technically strong professional with hands-on experience in telecom engineering, compliance management, vendor coordination, and project execution within large-scale transportation environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct telecom design reviews and ensure technical compliance across project requirements.
- Prepare and finalize Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and support techno-commercial evaluations.
- Coordinate with vendors for approvals, technical clarifications, and execution planning.
- Monitor project progress and maintain engineering records and documentation.
- Support project bidding, cost estimations, and proposal preparation.
- Review and implement telecom standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage coordination between telecom systems and other integrated infrastructure components.
Technical Requirements
- Strong knowledge of telecom design and engineering practices.
- Experience with telecom standards, regulations, and compliance processes.
- Understanding of vendor approval procedures and project delivery requirements.
- Knowledge of interfaces between telecom subsystems and:
- Signalling systems
- AFC (Automatic Fare Collection)
- PSD (Platform Screen Doors)
- Railway and Metro infrastructure systems
- High-speed transit subsystems
- Understanding of attended and unattended train operations.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in Metro telecom projects.
- Experience working on transportation infrastructure and rail-based systems.
- Strong background in client coordination, PMC coordination, and project management.
- Ability to adapt to changing project timelines and work across multiple sites in India and offshore locations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
