Day to Day: As a Staff Software Engineer at Indeed, you will drive the design, development, integration, and maintenance of developer tools ensuring reliable product delivery. Tools you will work on help developers comply with JSOX requirements, accessibility (a11y) best practices, and assist timely security vulnerability remediation. We plan to investigate AI automation to reduce the friction these developer tasks create by minimizing the manual toil they require.
Responsibilities
- Define, design, and build systems/technologies to automate routine developer compliance chores
- Assume a pivotal role on the team, demonstrating comprehensive knowledge not only our own products but also these products interact with other teams’ products and services
- Architect new solutions and validate new ideas by either building on top of existing solutions or by prototyping new products
- Participate in code and design reviews across multiple teams to maintain high-quality standards
- Assess performance and enhance current code to improve resource utilization
- Mentor and grow other software engineers across teams
- Communicate concisely and persuasively with product managers and other engineers in a cross-functional team
Skills/Competencies
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, addressing intricate issues of scale
- Solid sense of ownership and accountability as a key contributor in technical and product domains
- Experience in building developer tools, and in building or working on large scale systems
- Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms and Computer Fundamentals
Salary Range Transparency India 5,360,000 – 8,040,000 INR per year
